Loss of Nerve Sensation Internal Anal Sphincter

Bowel problems (felt like I was pushing against something in anus. After a bowel movement, I experienced severe rectal pain.) began in fall of '05, followed by extreme back pain. By '07, I had no urge to defecate. Dynamic proctography showed everything just drops to the bottom, and no urge to defecate. (Lost 18#s in '06, in 5 months-weighed 76#s) G.I. Doc examined me, said I have no nerve sensation in internal anal sphincter muscle. Do you have any idea what could cause the loss of nerve sensation? I still weigh 76#s, very poor appetite, live with severe back pain.
