Re: Multiple sclerosis diagnostics and treatment
Name: BATSUGAR ZORIGT
Date of birth: 1991.02.01
Weight: 60 кг
Height: 183 см
Our son is now 20 years old but recently was diagnosed tentatively with Multiple sclerosis. We are Mongolians living in Seoul, Korea. We learned about our son’s health condition only recently because f few time seizures he had:
1) First time he had seizure on November 2nd, 2009 at 9:00 AM during his sleep. The seizure lasted 7-8 minutes and white foam was coming from his mouth. He also urinated during the seizure. After regaining his consciousness, he did not remember what happened to him.
That day, on November 2nd, he did not sleep until 5:00 AM working on the computer and had seizure at 9 AM. He was admitted to Son-E hospital of Seoul, where the MRI revealed white cluster in his brain.
2) On December 2nd, 2009 he had seizure for the second time at 6:00 AM for about 5 minutes. It was same as before.
That night he also slept at 3:00 AM and had seizure at 6:00 AM. In the morning we took him to Kyonhi University hospital. Doctor there prescribed him seizure prevention medication Trileptal , which he is taking now.
Also until now 8 time has seizures only during his sleep.
Also until now he had seizures only during his sleep.
Recently he was taken to Chunan University hospital, Seoul for additional diagnostics. There they made:
- an MRI,
- liquid was drawn from spinal cord,
- brain activity record was made,
- blood work was made.
We will send you these analysis reports in the separate email.
Based on the results of the analysis this hospital is diagnosing our son with Multiple Sclerosis with 80% probability.
3) On January 1st 2010 we took our son to a brain specialized hospital in China named Tiantan Puhua and showed results of the analysis made in Korea. This hospital is saying the condition of our son is not Multiple sclerosis but maybe the lack of brain blood supply, which led to appearance of white parts in the brain with resulting seizures. They suggested hormonal treatment to prevent from seizures but were unable to prescribe exact treatment plan for the condition.
Anyway, no treatment was recieved from them.
4) March 6th, 2010 repeat MRI was done at Seoul Hyundai Asan hospital, and MRI revealed no change from earlier MRI images made in November and December. White cluster size remained same. This hospital says the case might be Cadasil and made additional detailed blood work but was unable to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor from the same hospital said it might be tuberous sclerosis.
Additional information: The members from father’s side of Batsugar had high blood pressure, several people died from this in relatively young age. On the mother side, several people have tendency of headache possibly from brain blood supply deficit. Other conditions for our son Batsugar, has dust allergy and runny nose since 10 years of age. He is smoking from 16 years of age, occasionally drinks alcohol. He had accidental fall from motorbike in November 2008 and was discovered unconscious. At that time, Kyonhi hospital but at that time they found no injury except hand and no MRI.
He is prone to fatigue and tendency to sleep which seems increasing. Another concern he is becoming increasingly irate and prone to anger.
We kindly ask you to advise us what do we do with our son’s condition and treatment,
Pls find attached MRI result. (Other test results will be sent in the following email).
If required, we will send you the MRI CD via post..
Thank you,
Altantuya.M (mother)
